NorstromCast

NorstromCast is a Raspberry Pi 4 project work in progress. The idea of it came from two things that I wanted to accomplish. The first was to take a old radio and turn it in to a device that could stream music. The second was to create a wireless intercom for my house so I wouldn’t have to yell to my kids who don’t own smartphones yet.

I realized I could just put a Bluetooth speaker into a old radio and buy my kids used smartphones to talk over our network. So I had to developed the idea further. One addition is to control the smart plugs in my house. Yet with all these features, a smartphone would easily replace this project.

Where the NorstromCast provides its value is in its design. The plan is to create a device that looks both retro and modern at the same time. It will be like are piece of art.
